KeMU Wins Award at 2014 Meru National ASK Show
Kenya Methodist University was presented with several awards at the Meru National ASK Show. 1st Place: -Best University Stand, - Best stand in Hospitality and Catering Services and 2nd Place -Best stand Embracing Information Technology and Communication System, -Best Institution of Higher Learning in Developing of Advanced Technology

Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board pay a visit to KeMU
The Office of the Vice Chancellor was paid a courtesy visit by the Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board (JMVB),who were on a tour of Meru County Present at the meeting from the JMVB, was Mr. Reuben K. Chirchir (Secretary and Chief Executive Officer), Ms. Roseline Odede (Vice Chairperson), and Professsor Ngotho wa Kariuki (Board Member & Chair of the Editorial Committee). The KeMU team consisted of Dr. Peter Opakas (Registrar FA), Mr. James Kubai (Dean of Students), Ms. Nancy Kamau (Librarian), Mr. John Mwenda Mugendi KeMUSO Chairperson, the Vice Chairperson, Secretary General and Academic Secretary.

Public Lecture on Leadership & Change Management
Dr. Jess Jamieson with the Leadership & Change Management talk attendees, led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs Rev. Prof. Peter Mageto, Prof. Robert Gateru, Nairobi Campus Principal, Dr. Wanja Tenambergen who coordinated the event, other Chair of Departments, Directors, Faculty members, and students.

CSR: Sanitary Pads Donation a Success
The Department of Student Welfare (Nairobi Campus), hosted the Florence Kajuju Foundation at the Chapel of the Main Campus. The theme of the event was "Empower a Child, Empower a County", and the Guest of Honour was our Vice Chancellor, Professor Alfred Mutema.

Faculty Member Chao Mbogo wins International Award
One of own, Ms. Chao Mbogo from the Faculty of Computing and Informatics was announced as one of the winners of the 2014 Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: EMEA.

Pre- University

Programme Objectives

  • The key objectives of the programme are to prepare students wishing to upgrade their qualification to join Diploma or Undergraduate programmes.
  • The programme prepares the students for progression ot higher levels of study in their fields of specialization.
  • The course is offered under the Department of Education and Counseling.

Admission Requirements
The basic qualification for admission for this programme is at least KCSE C-(Minus) or its equivalent qualifications.

Mode of Study

  • The program is offered on Full Time Mode , Part-time and School Based.

Academic Calendar

The University operates three semester system in one year. Admissions are done in January, May and September.

Duration of study

The Pre-University Programme takes a minimum of one trimester.

The intakes for this programme are in January, May and September.
However application for admission to the programme can be done all year round.

For those interested in upgrading performance in individual subjects, we offer bridging courses in all Scinces, Language and Art based subjects.
