About the Library

The Kenya Methodist University Library system consists of the main library in Meru and Campus libraries in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nyeri, Nakuru, and Maua. KeMU library system is committed to supporting all stakeholders in achieving the Mission and Vision of the University, through provision of efficient and effective quality information services.

The student user community includes those enrolled in various modes of learning such as full-time, part-time, distance learning, and school-based. Use of information technology at KeMU has enabled the library to reach out to its clients wherever they are, far and wide. The future of successful academic pursuit is at KeMU library.

To empower all library users with quality information resources to support high quality education that promotes excellence in scholarship, research and selfless service to the community.

Objectives

KeMU library systems endeavor to realize the following objectives:-

  • To utilize modern information technology to facilitate timely acquisition, provision and preservation of quality, up to date electronic, print and non-print information resources and services
  • To provide information literacy skills to students and faculty
  • To provide a conducive environment for study and research aimed at enhancing full    exploitation of information resources and services leading to the production of quality graduates with advanced specialized knowledge required for personal growth and advancement of responsible citizens in the global environment.
  • To collaborate with other information and knowledge providers to benchmark and enrich our information resources and services in accordance with local and international standards in support of provision of quality education
  • To preserve and disseminate the University’s intellectual output as a contribution to society through creation of local content.
  •     To meet the University standards as per Commission for Higher Education requirements.
