WELCOME TO KeMU LIBRARY Why We Exist The Library core aspiration is capture in our mission statement which is “To Provide Quality Solutions to Our Academic and Societal Clientele” LIBRARY SECTIONS The KeMU library department is organized into the following departments, namely: Collection Development Section The department is tasked with the acquisitions and processing of print and non-print information materials. The recommendation of materials for acquisition is done through proposals by the faculty members, the students and library staff. The department will always appreciate proposal from the clients on the materials they would like to be acquired. The Electronics Services 2. The Audiovisuals Section The department is tasked with the provision of information materials and services that are in non-paper format, namely:

2. Electronic Books: KeMU has subscribed to Electronic Books (e-books) in order to boost and diversify information services to its clients (Staff and Students). You need JavaScript enabled to view it 3. The Web OPAC The Web OPAC is a tool that user can employ is accessing and browsing the library collection (catalogue). Using this facility, users can access, query and navigate through the library catalogue to check on materials available, the loan status of material, hold or reserve materials. Users can also search and download past examination papers. 4. Convectional Web Search and Internet Browsing The digital library also offer our clients access terminals for internet browsing. 5. E-mail Accounts Management 6. ICT Training and Hands-On Assistance to Users The digital library also endeavors to strengthen the users skills to enable them exploit to the maximum the electronic information resources available. To this end, the department offers hands on training and occasionally organizes workshops and seminars to equip the users on search, access, retrieval and dissemination of electronic information resources. (An ICT-PERI Training Workshop) c) The Periodicals and special collection Section This section provides the users with access to serial publications such as the paper journals, newspaper, magazines and Government Publications d) The User Services Section This section deals with the circulation of information materials which includes borrowing, reserving, holding, receiving and discharging of information resources, referral services. The overall role of the department is to make sure that the information resources are fairly available to users. The department also ensures that the clients are made aware of available information materials and services through a Current Awareness Services.
