Summary:

Rewards-based approaches in natural resource management have been piloted in a number of situations in Africa and inventories of these pilots have been compiled by Katoomba Group, UNDP and others. This assignment is meant to conduct an analysis of RES actions in Africa by categorizing the rewards mechanisms used (whether commoditised payments, compensations or co-investment) and explain their feasibility and sustainability in relation to the conditions where they are implied.
