Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) is a private chartered Christian university founded over 25 years ago.

Our Schools

The university consists of four schools, each offering courses in various disciplines. These schools provide a diverse range of academic programs and opportunities for students to pursue their interests and goals.

Each school at KeMU has its own faculty members who are experts in their respective fields and contribute to the academic and research endeavors of the university. Our lecturers ensure that students have the opportunity to explore different disciplines and tailor their education to their interests and career aspirations.

School of Business & Economics

The School of Business and Economics offers a wide selection of undergraduate and graduate programs in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, and Business Administration.

We provide students with rigorous academic programmes that combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills, and our graduates can pursue careers in various fields, including finance, consulting, public policy, and academia.

School of Science & Technology

The School of Science and Technology offers a range of degree programs in biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science.

In this School, we strive to provide rigorous academic courses that integrate abstract knowledge with applied skills, and our graduates can pursue careers in research, software and technology development, data science, science education, and environmental science.

School of Medicine & Health Sciences

The School of Medicine and Health Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields of medicine and health sciences.

Our students are provided with research opportunities to gain hands-on experience in their field and can pursue careers in various fields, including healthcare, clinical medicine, nursing, public health, research, and academia.

School of Education & Social Sciences

The School of Education and Social Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Education, Psychology, Sociology, and Religious Studies.

The university stresses the importance of demanding academic programmes that merge conceptual comprehension with practical abilities, and our graduates can pursue careers in various fields, including education, social work, counselling, and public service.

Academic Calendar

Take note of the following important dates on our Academic Calendar this trimester.

01

Registration & Classes

New and Continuing students are expected to report and register between Monday, 4th – Friday, 8th September 2023. Lectures begin promptly on Monday, 11th September 2023.

Changing Courses & Late Registration

Adding/Dropping of courses will only be allowed between Monday, 11th – Friday, 22nd September 2023.

Changing Courses & Late Registration

The 23rd Graduation Ceremony of Kenya Methodist University will take place on Saturday, 14th October 2023.

04

End of Trimester 3, 2023 Examinations

This trimester’s examinations will take place between Monday 4th – Saturday 16th December, 2023. Remember to clear your school fees on time and meet all your class attendance and assessment requirements before then!

Cheris "Maestro" Avilia Balances Academics and Sports at KeMU

During the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations in Cameroun KeMU Queens produced six players.

Cheris Avilia of KeMU scored the historic goal for Harambee Starlets that qualified them to the first ever AWCON.  The headline of the DAILY NATION of Wednesday April 13th 2016 read the name “Cheris Avilia and History as Starlets win Africa Cup of Nation slot”.

This is to inform all students who have qualified for conferment of degrees and award of diplomas and certificates of Kenya Methodist University during the 2022/2023 academic year that the 23rd Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, 14th October 2023 from 8.30 a.m. at the Graduation Square, Main Campus, Meru

The 2022 Global Nursing Award Winner, Qabale Duba at KeMU

On November 5, 2022 it was an honour to have Ms. Anna Qabale Duba, the winner of the 2022 Aster Guardian Global Nursing Award, and a KeMU alumnus, grace our 22nd graduation ceremony as an invited guest.

Ms. Duba is the founder of Qabale Duba Foundation (QDF) www.qabale.org, a community-based organization empowering pastoralist girls and women in Marsabit County. She is a graduate nurse from Kenya Methodist University and currently pursuing masters of science in Field Epidemiology at Moi University. QDF champions against Harmful cultural practices like female genital mutilation & early marriages.

Need help?

Many times students find themselves stranded on campus, looking for someone to assist them.

If you need assistance and none of the questions have been addressed on the right, feel free to reach out to us on:

Curriculum changes are continuous but do not affect the continuing student. Each student is supposed to follow the curriculum he/ she finds on first registration at the university.

Every student is allocated an Academic Advisor by their Academic Department, who guides them all through their academic life in the University. Any queries on sequencing and eligibility to register for any course is directed to the Academic Advisor.

A student who wishes to get a letter of recommendation or completion should write to the Registrar (Academic Affairs) requesting for the same. The student then picks up the said letter within 24 hours.

Every student is required to have a copy of the KeMU Students’ Academic Handbook and Code of Conduct which guides him/ her throughout their academic stay in the University. This is available here. (Click here to download a copy)
